She did it!

A fellow knitter's success

June 2022

Hi ,

Fellow knitter, Mijung was one of the knitters who inspired my recent obsession with lace.

She was trying to create a lace pattern "from scratch" without first understanding how her lace carriage worked on her Brother 940.  So not only was she struggling with DesignaKnit, she didn't understand how the stitch pattern was created by using 2 carriges.

My first piece of advice was to try knitting lace with built-in stitch pattern.

Once she got the hang of that, she tackled our new LearnDesignaKnit Course, used the practice examples in the course, understands the stitch patterns and can now create her own designs.

Her success formula:
Get familiar with your machine + Understand lace stitch patterns = Success!

Putting it all together, she is now ready to tackle a "real" lace project on her machine

Next,  it's time to check in with my other lace inspiration knitter.  She doesn't have a lace carriage, but she was going to try some of the other many methods of knitting "lace" on the machine.  Are you ready to explore some other "lace" techiques on your machine?

Please reply to this email and share your experience with thread lace, tuck lace, needles out of work and the other fabulous techiques available to us.

PS
I've been so excited about lace, I created a entire NEW DesignaKnit Course "DesignaKnit and Lace".
It's an in-depth study of how DAK creates lace stitch patterns for us to use with our knitting machines.

It explores the differences between Brother and Singer/Silver machines, plus all the "rules" DAK applies in creating and using lace  stitch patterns.
