Knitter Spotlight: Nicole's Creative Pattern Adaptation
garment style sideways knit sleeves
Inspired by the Rain Chain Machine Knit-able, fellow knitter, Nicole, used the Knit it Now Misses Sideways pattern and the Connect the dots stitch pattern for her SUCCESS!
Nicole knit her version
Nicole wanted the stitch pattern to align from the top of the sleeve to the cuff as shown in the original pattern.
We updated the pattern to include sideways knit sleeves.
With top-down sleeves, the stripe design would have been around the arms. Knitting the sleeves sideways aligned the stripes the way she wanted.
Nicole knit her version
- 2/8 wool
- Brother machine
- Gauge = 27/37
- The purl side for the public side.

Congrats Nicole!
Knit it Now Machine Knit-Ables are curated hand knitting patterns that can be converted to machine knitting either by "translating" the original pattern or substituting Knit it Now patterns to use with YOUR machine and YOUR choice of yarn.

Beautiful! It makes me want to try it, I just thought it was too much manipulation and time consuming, but it looks so good.
