Alison covers a history of hand frame knitting, techniques and stitches, the design process, designing with stripes, colour, circles, fair isle, lace and sculptural vessels. The book finishes with a section on knitting as a business. Her colour combinations are divine and the garment patterns have simple unstructured shapes giving them a contemporary look. The book also contains photos of all the punch cards used.
