Think 'outside the box'

As machine knitters, we spend a lot of time knitting rectangles and squares. Knitting circles opens up a world of design possibilities.
Consider shawls, hats, blankets, pillows, home dec. Knit circles alone, or combined with rectangles to create unusual designs no matter what you are knitting!

Knit a circle in one piece (pinwheel):
  • Cast on 1/2 the width with an open cast on
  • Knit wedges using short row shaping
  • Scrap off
  • Invisibly seam the cast on and bind off edge

Knit separate wedges:
  • Cast on each wedge and DECREASE to a point
    • Create 6-8 wedges to form your circle
    • Use "sew-as-you-go" to join the sections if you prefer
  • Start at the point and INCREASE to the edge
    • Create 6-8 wedges to form your circle
    • Use "sew-as-you-go" to join the sections if you prefer
