Have you ever heard a warning about vacuuming an electronic machine? A knitter who has a Brother 970 and a Silver 860 is asking ...  thoughts?

 Has wn home!
I have heard not to vacuum electronics. I am just. I  giving my personal experience. I am not recommending, each makes own choice.
There is a real chance of static building up
I don’t vacuum on dry days. I wrap a thin cotton around the hose opening.  So I can make sure nothing important is going down the tube. I have machine unplugged. I move hose on bed slowly.  I do not vacuum electronics areas. I also use canned air occasionally which is also a questionable practice.
So far so good.
I vacuum after long tail brushing.
I do not vacuum every time I clean it.  I usually get a good deal of lint when I do vacuum.

I vacuum my machine but only needle bed area, it clears fluff buildup. If your worried about static use a humidifier, this is advisable in air conditioned work rooms. Electronics should be ok providing machine is grounded.

I also use a vacuum on the bed itself and stay away from the electronics (Singer 560).  A word about the canned air.  I've never used it on the knitting machine but do use it on my industrial serger.  If you check the instructions on the can, it says to spray it away from the machine for a bit so that any moisture will go elsewhere - then point it at the machine.  I'll stick to the vacuum for the knitter !
