Can any body give a sample to put number in these boxes. I have a bulky machine.
st-------= --------cm
row--------=------cm what does it mean when they say your gauge. how do you fix gauge on the knitting machine. I don't now if I have right or wrong gauge. until it done. please help me thank you

Hi Delia!
You establish your gauge based on a swatch. Gauge is how many stitches and how many rows in a specific measurement.
The most common measurement is 4"/ 10cm
For example, if you measure a 4" square section of your swatch (in the center) you might get 16 sts and 24 rows = 4" / 10cm
All of the calculations to knit anything are based on gauge.
Machine knitters don't measure that way, we create a swatch like the images below to make it easier to measure gauge without counting stitches and rows.

okay what im asking is they ask your gauge to make your pattern you count your st and your row okay just like sample swat
40st =6" 1"=6.67 60 row 7" 1"=8.58 what set number you log in gauge 6 and 7 Or 6.67 and 8.58 that what I wanted to no thank you

If your sample swatch works out at 6.67 stitches to 1 inch, and 8.58 rows to 1 inch, I believe they are the numbers to use Joy 🙂
