Hi All,
I am knitting my first garment on my chunky Brother kh260. I'm using a size 4 hand knitting yarn, 55% cotton, 45% acrylic, and wondered if mattress stitch would be the way to go? Or back stitch? I don't want the seam to be too thick. Any help gratefully received

Arghhh... I moved Joy's post from the "Lace" category and the comments disappeared!
Here's what I remember:
1. reduce bulk by seaming 1/2 of the outside edge instead of an entire stitch
2. Reduce bulk by using a thinner yarn for seaming, it doesn't have to match perfectly, it will be hidden in the seam
3. Reduce bulk by splitting the seaming yarn into plies - make a thinner yarn for seaming.
