Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt!
I am knitting a scarf...when I introduce a new colour the knitting drops off the machine.  I have not knit in a few week and am a relative newbie and I just cannot figure out what it is I am doing incorrectly this time.

What machine are you using?

Some Brother machines have a "gate" that closes on the yarn feeder.  Forget to close the gate and ....oops (ask me how I know)

When changing yarn it's important to make sure the yarn is completely in the feeder

Thanks...it is a Brother KH820 and yes...you may have diagnosed correctly.

yes I have just now tried that and all is OK. I guess I just forgot the gate sometimes!

Happens to me all the time... especially when switching between Brother and Singer/Silver machines....
