Hi,
I recently replaced my Brother KH230 with a Singer SK155.  The machine had been used very little, but stored for awhile.  When I first set it up, the carriage could barely move.  After a cleaning and oiling it is working much better.  It knits well, but it seems to make a lot of noise compared to the old Brother.  What are your experiences with the Singer machines?  I am wondering if I should do a much deeper cleaning?

I'm sorry, I haven't used the 155 .. hopefully someone here in the "brain trust" can offer their opinion.

I haven't used any Brother before, but don't consider my 155 to be noisier than my mid-gauge taitexma, standard singer or passap 80. Sometimes people say that static can create extra noise? Maybe wipe the bed and needles down with a dryer sheet and try again? Then again, it might be that Brothers are super quiet!
