Hi everybody.
I knit a lot of socks. All of them in 4 ply yarn on a Passap.
I now want to try some thicker ones on the SK 860 with ribber.
To obtain the same tension on the main and ribber bed, will the tension dials be on the same number?
In other words do the tensions match on both beds when using the same stitch size for circular knitting?
Is there a rule about this?
Should I use the same stitch dial number on the ribber as the main bed when knitting ribbing?
Would love to know what others think.
I will be doing tensions pieces but don't want to waste too much sock yarn in the process.
Lesley.

Hi Lesley, I think you will find that you will need to use different tensions, so definitely do some circular swatches 😊 Joy

Hi Lesley!
Wow! So many beautiful, colorful socks!
Yes, you'll need to swatch to determine the settings for your machine and ribber.
Once you establish the relationship between your main bed and ribber you shouldn't have to "waste" too much yarn -
Here's a video that should help.

Thank you Joy and Sue for your help.
I watched the video.
I am going to do the circular swatch and take it from there.
I hadn't heard of doing a swatch that way.
