Hi,
I have a ton of part balls of fine acrylic yarn, so I am thinking to make a sideways knit striped sweater on the standard gauge.  Knitting machines only have a 2 yarn mast.  Apart from knitting stripes with hand tension, do any of you have suggestions on how to knit single or multiple rows of different colour yarns?  I know there are yarn changers, but I was hoping to do this without more accessories.  Thanks.

Do you have several machines with yarn masts?I have seen a video (youtube, the answer lady),  a spare yarn- mast teiped to a (kitchenpaperrull-)stand,  so as it stands on his own,  can provide 2 yarn colours extra. As you mention,  yarn changers provide a yarn mast for 4 colours,  using one usual stand from the machine.
Or hand feeding. It is tidious,  but may be a good alternativ to aditional yarn masts, because  it spares you from much tangling.
