I'm interested in getting some coned yarn for fair isle on a standard gauge SK 280. Which Jaeger Spun would be more suitable? The Heather 3/8? The silk/wool blend?

Any opinions welcome

I see this was posted quite a while ago, but just thought that I would share that I have recently been playing with fair isle on a couple of different machines, and really like the Jaggerspun superfine merino 2/18. I bought two cones to play/test before investing in more colors, but I'm planning to order more. Here are a couple of samples I did. The larger DBJ sample was done on a Passap e6000, and the smaller sample is from a punchcard design done on the SK 700. Both have been rinsed and dried, but not steamed.

I've used the 3/8 (in different fibers) and have been working with their 2/8 for Full Needle rib and DBJ.

Their yarn is very high quality and they offer beautiful colors.

I love to support one of the few remaining yarn mills in the US.

BTW - If anyone is wondering about those numbers 3/8, 2/8 etc here's a tutorial
