Size 8 shows a finished measurement of 47â€? on the picture but says the chest width is 55â€?.  Which is it suppose to be.  I made the 8 and it’s blocked but not dry yet and I think is going to be too big.  I can always treat it as a cut and sew type project and surge it together to make it smaller but was wondering were I went wrong.

thanks,

Hi Jeri,
I'm sorry, there was a display error on the build page of the pattern.

Always look at the Perfect Fit dimensions (this is the number that will be calculated for your knitting instructions) and confirm in the legend on the pattern instructions.

If the sweater is too big and you entered your desired bust size, it has to be a gauge issue... it's just math.

If you want a piece to be 20" wide and your gauge is 6 stitches to the inch, you'll need to cast on 120 stitches.

If the finished piece is larger than 20", the gauge is off ... it's just math.

Working on updating Maria now....
