Good morning all.
I have followed the class instruction for the Big Hug sweater and the conversion.

I am struggling to see how to convert the shoulder as the tool uses measurements and the original pattern is shaping of rows.

I have used the conversion gauge and I need to shape over 10 rows but not sure how to work out with the tool to get the new pattern on the sloping

Hope this makes sense
Thanks in advance

Hi Michelle!

Great Question!

If I'm understanding correctly, our slope tool calculates inches, but the HK pattern is giving you stitches and rows. Correct?

For now, the best solution is to "translate" the stitches and rows to inches, then you can use the tool to work out the slope instructions. Here's an example

I'll check with our programmer, Matt and see if we can improve the slope tool.

PS Something to remember - the math to calculate the shaping for a slope is different than the magic formula.
A slope has more stitches than rows.
The magic formula works when there are more rows than stitches.

Thank you. I will give it ago, although I think my brain is about to explode.

😄  I understand... We all feel that way now and then.

If you can wait a few hours, Matt is working on the update this morning.

He took the challenge and ran with it ... a few UI tweaks and we should release an updated Slope tool today.

That will be one less thing to stress your brain.
