Hei,
I am trying to learn the bickford Seam, but i am struggeling to identify the loops and the knots. So i am guessing now.

What i see are the alternating tight and loose endstitches. Is (the outer leg of) the tight stitch the knot? And the looser stitch the loop?
Do i understand it right, that for the loop to loop seam you insert the needle from the right side inn to the loose stitch, and then insert the needle into the corresponding loose stitch on the other item from private side?
That would bind the outer legs of the looser stitches together. And means joining stitches each second row.

Is that an other way to see at it, or am i wrong? - I can't see that from the video (the one that was the tip of the week one or two weeks ago)

It sounds like you've got it!
The loop is looser than the knot!

Sometimes it's easier to see on a bulkier yarn.

Have you ever hand knit a slipped edge? (You can also do it on the machine)
There are no knots, just loops - maybe this will help you visualize the formation of stitches along the edges

That was an eyeopener. Last time i saw loops and knots was when i finished a mohair cardigan by hand last week. I just not realized.
Yess,  i got it.
Thank you,  Sue
