Do you like to work with ribber?  I do.  There are lots of new possibilities in creating fabrics, textures, garments, etc.

I just shared the picture of the Tuck Rib Cardigan (Prickly Pear – kids).

It seems like a perfect mini project for the double bed technique practice.

This cardigan is worked in a Tuck Rib stitch.  All bands, the collar, and the front panel are worked in Full Needle Rib.

The most attractive part of this project is the center panel with embossed diamonds.

There is the instruction for diamonds making:1_MG_6157.jpgneedles selection.png

  1. Make a needles selection as follow: Knit 2 rows
  2. Bring needles marked A to working position (WP). Knit 2 rows.
  3. Bring needles marked B to WP. Knit 2 rows
  4. Bring needles marked C to WP. Knit 2 rows.  Seven needles at the center of RB in WP.
  5. Move stitches from needles marked C inward (onto needles B) and return empty C to nonworking position. Knit 2 rows.
  6. Move stitches from needles marked B inward (onto needles A) and return empty B to nonworking position. Knit 2 rows.
  7. Move stitches from needles marked A inward (onto the center needle ) and return empty A to nonworking position. Knit 2 rows.  The first diamond is completed.
  8. Repeat (b-g) for the next diamond.

**The Baby Cardigan pattern is from an old knitting magazine.  Please contact me if you need more details.
