Cable Eyelet Ribbing

Adapted from a hand knitting pattern, this is a beautiful combination of knit and purl stitches, eyelets and cables.

2 methods are demonstrated, one stretchy and a perfect substitute for plain old ribbing. The other has no stretch, better for an all over fabric design or an insert.

If you don't have a ribber, with a little extra hand manipulation you can still work this interesting stitch pattern.
