Mock ribbing is a great alternative for machine knitters to use instead of hand manipulating knit and purl stitches, using a ribber or hand knitting ribbing.
Here are some tricks for beautiful seams when working mock ribbing.
Extra Seaming tip:
  • Start seaming on the public side of the hat at the join point
  • 1. Leave a tail and stitch from the join point to the fold
  • 2. turn the knitting and stitch the "inside" of the fold
  • Take the yarn out of your darning needle
  • 3. turn the knitting to continue seaming
  • Re-thread the darning needle with the other end of the seaming strand
  • Seam from the join point to the top of the hat.
  • Secure both ends
