History:

2005 - 2010:
Sue was writing knitting patterns for a specific gauge based on a yarn she was selling. The yarn would be discontinued and the pattern was rendered useless unless you could match gauge with a different yarn.

Sue partnered with programmer, Matt to create an online resource that allowed knitters to build custom patterns based on any gauge. Patterns are just math, after all.

The Knit it Now Basics were born.

A single pattern for each basic sweater style was developed. For example, V-neck, round, neck, shaped shoulders, straight shoulders, shaped body, cardigan or pullover. The list grew over the years and became unmanageable.

Fast forward to 2019:
The "perfect fit" concept was adapted. This allows the knitter to adjust various areas of a pattern to their own requirements.

Fast forward to 2020/2021:
Individual patterns now contain both round and v-necks. The knitter can choose to build shaped or straight shoulders. Older patterns have been retired and the new combined format replaces the old versions.

Moving Forward:
In addition to our "basics" we will continue to add new garment styles to the Knit it Now pattern collection. Suggestions are always welcome Contact Us
