The Goal of this challenge
Swatching and establishing Gauge is essential to your success with your knitting machine.
Without knowing your gauge:
How do you know how much yarn you need?
How do you know how many stitches and rows to knit?
In this challenge you will knit at 3 swatches. Each exercise will use different skills that may be new to you.
Knit a "Get Acquainted Swatch"
Knit a "Proper" swatch
Explore the effects of Gravity
As a beginner, I encourage you to study level 0 of the success path. It may answer questions that you have and it will put your feet (and fingers ) on the right track.
If you are more advanced, please try these exercises with a stitch pattern or ribbing.
I HIGHLY encourage you to take swatching and gauge seriously ... it will go a long way towards your success with your machine.
