How many stitches do I pick up to finish my neckline?

Hi ,

The goal of this Challenge

This question baffles a lot of new knitters. Shaping and finishing necklines is an ART not a SCIENCE. However with a bit a practice and an understanding of methods for determining stitches, you will get it right EVERY time.

Start with a practice neckline. Choose the shaping method you like (short rows or decreases or cut 'n sew) Measure the edge of that opening and determine how many stitches to pick up. If you haven't perfected shaping necklines, please study the Neckline Shaping Skill Builder first.

If you are new to knitting sweaters and shaping neck opening, I highly recommend studying each of the neckband skill builders.
