..... .....I want to let you in on a secret...... .....Now, this is the best piece of advice.....that I have ever gotten in all..... .....the years I've been machine knitting...... .....Life lines...... .....Picture this...... .....You're knitting a dress,.....and you did a beautiful hem at the bottom,..... .....all hand-manipulated,.....and you've knit about inches,..... .....and you shape the side seams,.....and everything is going just swimmingly...... .....And you get to the neckline,.....and disaster happens...... .....Maybe the work falls off the machine or.....you drop some stitches or you just don't..... .....like the way that neckline is shaped...... .....No tears in knitting...... .....Plan ahead and put in a lifeline...... .....Simply means before you get to this.....difficult place where you're going to be..... .....manipulating stitches, scrap off,..... .....drop the work from the machine,..... .....rehang it back on the machine,.....leave that scrap yarn in place,..... .....and continue knitting...... .....Then, when and if disaster happens,.....you only have to rip back to that point..... .....again, re-hang the work back on the.....machine, and you're off and running...... .....No tears in knitting...... .....Please plan ahead...... .....Use lifelines...... .....And happy knitting......
