Good Practice Project

Here's a quick, practical project that will put your decreasing skills to use.
The top of this cap is shaped for great fit. If you aren't ready to knit ribbing, just cast on and let the hem roll.

Working the shaping in each of the 4 gores is a great way to experiment with decrease methods
  • 1 stitch from the edge
  • 2 stitches from the edge
  • full fashioned decreases
  • Try knitting the entire hat in ribbing or full needle rib and practice double bed decreases
Once you finish a couple hats, you'll be a decreasing expert!
