How to cancel the working of end needle selection mechanism
Your machine selects needles based on your punchcard pattern. Depending on the pattern and the number of needles in work, the needles on each end of the knitting may be selected. This may or may not be what you want.
The following video discusses the impact of end needle selection with Fairisle, but this also impacts other stitch patterns as well. For example when working tuck, if the end needle is selected and the stitch tucks, it will be more difficult to seam that edge.
With Thread Lace, you may get a long float as shown in the video.
This machine has a setting under the carriage that allows you to cancel the end needle selection as needed.Use a single prong transfer tool to switch the end needle selection cams as needed for your chosen stitch pattern.
