Gauge
← Back to GlossaryGauge is a measure of the number of stitches and rows in a specific area. Gauge is commonly measured: Stitches and rows PER INCH ~or~ stitches and rows PER 4" (10cm)
NOTE: The term "gauge" can also refer to the pitch of a knitting machine. For example a machine with needles that are 4.5mm apart is referred to as a STANDARD GAUGE machine
